UGI 2 brings professional grappling to Kentucky for the first time

This weekend, Adam Gomez brings pro grappling to Kentucky for the first time, as UGI 2 goes down at the Georgetown Conference & Training Center in Georgetown.
The event features a total of 22 grappling matches, including 11 pro matches. The fan-friendly event also features a unique format for the pros.
“Fans can look forward to finishes,” Gomez told BluegrassMMA. “The pros win $100 if they win their match – if there’s no submission then there’s no winner.”
The event features many top-level grapplers as well as many competitors with MMA experience. In the main event, Ryan Stout will take on Chad Hardy in the main event. Both fighters have MMA experience, with Stout having over 20 pro fights.
Other notable MMA fighters with professional experience will be Adam Fritz, James Douglas, Ruben Warr, George Oiler, Jeff Alexander and Chris McKinney. Multiple competitors on the pro portion of the card also have amateur MMA experience. But Gomez says that the competitor to watch could be on the amateur portion.
“Seth Richie – he’s on the amateur card,” Gomez said. “[He’s] 18 years old [and] a blue belt under Nick Albin of Derby City. This kid has skills.”
Gomez says that several of the bouts will be streamed via Facebook Live, but the only way to catch all of the action is to be in attendance on Saturday. Check out the full lineup below.
