Things are heating up in the professional welterweight division in the buckeye state. Two of the top fighters will finally cross paths. It was made recently announced that “Non-Stop Action Packed” Dom T. Steele will meet Nick “The Savage” Duell next month at Caged Vengeance 15. Nichole Castillo, NAAFS matchmaker, made the announcement on October 25th via her Facebook page.
The Cleveland-based Duell (11-4) will have the crowd supporting him as he is set to make his return. It’s been more than a year since “The Savage” stepped foot inside a cage- he is ready to make a statement with a win over the always tough Steele. In his last official fight, Duell fell short late in the final round against Hector Urbina. The victory helped Urbina land a shot with the UFC later this month.
Prior to his most recent bout, Steele was on a five-fight winning streak. That stretch of wins came to an end this past summer when he was stopped by former M-1 Global lightweight champion Jose Figueroa. Before the loss Steele was on the radar with many national promotions including the UFC- it was rumored he needed to finish one more fight to earn a shot. Although he suffered a set-back, that has not deterred the aggressive fighter.
With several other bouts announced for the upcoming Caged Vengeance 15, this match-up is by far the most intriguing (at least in my opinion). These two are at pivotal spots in their career as a loss would set them back further than they would like at this point. Whereas, a win could put either one of them back on track- more so in the case of Steele then for Duell.
