Turf Wars 23 - Top 5 ReasonsThis weekend at Turfway Park in Florence, Kentucky, the Turf Wars organization will once again invade the horse track. Bringing in the new year, the promotion has put together one of their best cards stacked with talent from the Greater Cincinnati area. Evan Samad is destined for super stardom

Of course that is not the only title on the line at Turf Wars 23. Evan Samad will defend his title for the first time since recapturing the belt this past November. With so many amateur fighters competing throughout our footprint, it’s hard to say which fighters will venture into the professional ranks with the same momentum. However, for this young fighter that isn’t the case.

Evan Samad is one of those fighters who, even up to now, has flown under the radar. With eight amateur fights, only losing, he is well on his way to, and I hate to say this, greatness. I really hate to use that term, especially for amateurs, but the Cincinnati-native is unlike most. Standing in his way this Saturday night is Stephen Scott.

The last time Scott had the opportunity to win championship gold he fell short. Posting back-to-back to wins last year after an extended four-year layoff, Scott is ready to end the hype that Samad is riding. Both fighters are clamoring for the chance to shine in the spotlight- however, only one will have that opportunity. All joking aside, I have this fight being the most-watch fight; an early candidate for fight of the night.
