Jeremy Pender/Brandon Clawson among 9 bouts set for Colosseum Combat XXXIV

With more than two months to go Colosseum Combat owner Mark Slater is wasting no time in announcing bouts for his upcoming event. Colosseum Combat XXXIV is set to take place at the National Guard Armory in Kokomo, Indiana on February 20, 2016.

For the past several weeks, Slater has made published several bouts including the co-main event between veteran fighter Jeremy Pender (11-11) and rising sensation Brandon Clawson (3-1). It’s been over two years since Clawson has stepped foot inside the cage. In his last fight, the “Hand Grenade” came up short midway through the final round of his fight against now Colosseum Combat bantamweight champion Lloyd Carter.

Unlike his opponent, Pender has been very active. The Vision MMA fighter has competed five times in 2014 but only once this year when he submitted James Porter at the promotion’s last event. That win which came after almost one year after his previous fight snapped a three-fight losing streak.

Also scheduled to fight are two undefeated fighters, Ryan Gosnell (2-0) and Jameson Sharp (2-0). Both of them made their professional debuts against the same opponent, Sean Fallon, and both walked away victorious. Returning to Colosseum Combat for the third straight time, Gosnell has earned two first-round finishes over the aforementioned Fallon and Pierce Overton.

Meanwhile, Sharp will return to Kokomo for the first time in two years. In his debut bout, he went the distance with Fallon, earning the unanimous decision. In his second fight, he submitted Shawn Bottoms late in the first-round. When these two meet in February, one will walk away with an untarnished record while the other will suffer their first loss as a professional.

On the amateur side of the event, we will see a rematch bantamweight rematch between Janson Golightly (3-1-1) and Mahu Mendoza (2-0-1). The first time these two fighters met was at Colosseum Combat XXXI this past February. In that fight, neither fighter walked away victorious as all three judges scored the fight a draw. When these two meet again, one year later, one will walk away with the belt strapped around their waist.
