Andrew Holbrook picks up second UFC win in Australia

Andrew Holbrook has now won two of his three UFC bouts, as the Indiana native topped Jake Matthews in the co-main event at UFC Fight Night 101 on Saturday night.
Holbrook was the biggest underdog on the card against the hometown favorite Aussie Matthews, but he pulled out a split decision in front of a crowd of more than 13,000 in Melbourne.
Holbrook topped Matthews with superior grappling, chaining multiple submission attempts and keeping Matthews on the defensive.
Holbrook’s UFC life may have hung in the balance, as he looked to rebound from the first loss of his career earlier this year. He suffered a nasty knockout loss at the hands of Joaquin Silvia in July, and a second loss in a row could have sent him to the chopping block.
Nevertheless, the Indy Boxing & Gappling product now has a pair of UFC wins and a 12-1 record under his belt.
