Two middleweights looking to jump start their pro careers will square off just prior to Christmas, as John Antanitis (0-0) and Frankie Festa (1-0) are set to throw down at Pinnacle FC 15.
There apparently is no love lost between the two Pittsburgh area natives, and the story behind the rivalry was outlined by Pinnacle FC promoter Matt Leyshock in an article announcing the bout.
Antanitis, who represents The Mat Factory, makes his pro debut after a 14-fight amateur career. He recently closed out his amateur career earlier this year with a decision loss to Myles Robinson via split decision at Caged Madness 44. The bout was his first in two and a half years.
Festa comes in looking to advance his perfect record as a pro, as picked up a decision win over Tony Dipiero at Caged Madness 43 in June. He posted a 6-1 record as an amateur, mostly competing in Ohio despite being a Pittsburgh native and representing Stout Training Center.
Pinnacle FC 15 takes place on Dec. 17 at the Teamsters Hall in Pittsburgh, and the event streams live on FloCombat.
Two bouts have already been announced for the event, as Dominic Mazzotta will defend his featherweight title against Solon Stanley, and Mark Cherico will square off against Antonio Castillo Jr.
