Warrior FC closes out a successful year this Saturday in Somerset with a solid card put together by Kentucky MMA pioneer Jimbo Collins. “Bad Blood” will be the promotions first event in the city in quite some time. To top things off, Collins has assembled a great showcase for women’s MMA for the finale.
We’ve covered the main event that feature’s a pair of local professionals in Evva Johnson and Heather Corder. There are three amateur fights that look to showcase women’s MMA in support of the headliner.
Alejandra Betancourt (2-1) will meet Carmen Zamora (1-0). Betancourt will be gracing the cage for the third time this year. Her last outing was a decision win over Shawna Ormsby at Valor Fights 36 back in August. Zamora will be making her sophomore appearance inside the cage. It didn’t take long for her to make a splash in her debut as she finished Marisa Elliot at Apex Fights 12 within the first round.
Kerri Jenkins (0-1) will return from a two year hiatus to meet Natasha Lawler (0-2). Lawler has fell short in her first two appearances but has remained positive. Jenkins debuted in Somerset in 2014 and was part of a memorable fight that saw her get caught in the third round. The pair are both local so it should have some strong crowd support behind it.
Genia Goodin (3-0) has ran through her competition in her young career. Through three fights she has yet to get past a minute in the fight let alone the first round. Her last fight was a seven second knockout at Apex Fights 8. Goodin meets Faith Hensley (0-1) who’s only fight went into the 3rd round. Hensley was submitted by KMAA’s Emilee Prince.
BluegrassMMA will be at The Center for Rural Development tonight and will bring you all the updates from Warrior FC “Bad Blood”. Check with GFL tonight for details of the live stream as well.
