After an emotional week and year, Brian Rogers (13-9) is back in the win column.
“The Predator” knocked out Lewis Rumsey (13-15), who took the fight on just three days’ notice, in 60 seconds.
Rogers dropped Rumsey early in the first and looked to finish the fight on the ground, but Rumsey recovered and looked to lock in a submission.
Rogers made his way back to his feet, but then threw some heavy punches to a grounded Rumsey, who is a jiu-jitsu purple belt.
Eventually, one of the punches got through, and Rumsey briefly went to sleep as referee Jerry Poe stopped the fight.
Rogers gave an emotional speech after, thanking his family and fighting through tears.
It was a big win for Rogers, who was cut from Bellator last year. This was his first fight in Ohio since Bellator 78 in 2012.
