Dom Steele (13-9) now has a third opponent for his main event bout at Colosseum Combat XLI next month, as Portland Pringle has stepped in to face the UFC veteran.
Steele was originally slated to face Daniel Vizcaya, and then Rocky Edwards, but but opponents dropped out. The bout against Pringle will be in the middleweight division.
The Vision MMA product Steele’s last five bouts have come under the UFC banner, but he will compete back on the regional scene here. It’s not clear whether he has received his UFC release just yet, but he was cleared to find fights outside of the organization.
Steele posted a 1-4 record in the Octagon, with his lone win coming via a devastating knockout due to a slam at UFC Fight Night 79 in 2015. Most recently, he dropped a decision against Luke Jumeau at UFC Fight Night 110 in June.
The Kentucky native Pringle will come in looking to snap out of a two-fight losing streak, as he has dropped back to back bouts against JD Domengeaux and Chris Curtis this year. Prior to the two losses, he had won three straight, including his first fight against Domengeaux.
Other pro bouts at the event feature Reggie Merriweather (12-10) vs. Joe Lile Jr. (7-3), and Tyler Combs (15-14) vs. Dustin Parrish (5-1-1).
