Bryan McDowell and Lance Lawrence to defend titles at Hardrock MMA 71
Two amateur titles will be on the line at Hardrock MMA 71 as Bryan McDowell, the welterweight champion, and Lance Lawrence, the lightweight champion, will each defend their championships on April 11. Additionally, undefeated Ben Sergent (3-0) of Reaction MMA will take on TJ Eskew (2-4) who is coming off a huge win just two weeks ago.
These are just three of the nine fights already announced for the upcoming event. Let’s take a look at the two amateur fights scheduled for the event.
Kraken MMA fighter, Bryan McDowell (9-6) is set to defend his welterweight belt for the first time since he submitted Christopher Hansford at Hardrock MMA 69. McDowell is set to meet rising sensation Blake O’Neil (6-1) of Area 502. With six consecutive wins, O’Neil has not suffered a loss since his amateur debut. Of course, this will be his toughest to date as he takes on the veteran McDowell.
In the lightweight division, undefeated Lance Lawrence (5-0) will also defend his belt for the first time. The Louisville native has finished all of his opponents, three in the first round and two in the second; submitting all of them. He is set to take on Jordan Robinson (3-2) of Fight 2 Win, who is riding a two -fight winning streak including a title win with another organization.
