Midwest Fight Series made their way to Hoosier Park Racing & Casino for the first time on Saturday night, as MFS XIII took place in Anderson, Indiana just outside of the state capital of Indianapolis.
In the night’s main event, it took Hoosier State native Austin Tweedy (7-1) just 72 seconds to lock in a rear naked choke, forcing Minnesota’s Brandon Jenkins (5-2) to tap.
It was the fourth consecutive win for Tweedy, who continues to have a banner 2015 run. The 24-year-old opened up the year with a first round submission over Jimmy Donahue at MFS XII and then followed that up with a nine-second knockout over Rob Imhoff at LFC 56 in July. The win becomes his sixth inside the first round, and seventh stoppage victory overall.
In the night’s only other pro bout, Jameson Sharp (2-0) advanced his unbeaten record when he submitted Shawn Bottoms (2-2) in the first round with a kimura.
Also 24 years old, Sharp followed up a decision win over Sean Fallon from April with his first stoppage victory as a pro.
