Hoosier Fight Club 30 marks the promotion’s return to the Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City, Indiana this weekend, and a welterweight title bout headlines the 16-fight card.
Dustin Pape (7-3) and Sultan Umar (3-0) are set to square off for the promotion’s vacant welterweight title. Pape comes in looking to rebound from a loss to DeQuan Townsend at Duneland Classic IX in his last fight. That bout took place in October 2015 and Pape returns to action for the first time since. Pape competes for the eighth time for HFC, as he’s posted a 5-2 record in bouts for the promotion. Pape is ranked as the No. 5 pro welterweight in the latest BluegrassMMA Rankings.
Umar hails from Illinois and has finished all three of his pro bouts via (T)KO. His last outing was a win over Kevin Tjaden at XFO 58 in May.
In the co-main event, Marcus Govan (2-0) looks to remain unbeaten as he takes on Ricco Ralston (2-5). Govan made his pro debut earlier this year and has earned his first two wins via TKO. Ralston looks to snap out of a three-fight losing streak. His last outing was a submission loss to Tyler Hufnagle at HFC 29 in June.
In another intriguing bout, Justin King (5-4) and Matthew Hemry (6-3) will square off in a bantamweight battle. The former Indiana University wrestler King looks to snap out of a two-fight losing streak, while Hemry is also looking to rebound from a loss.
HFC 30 will be streamed live via GFL on Saturday with a price tag of $14.99. You can order the stream via this link.
