IT Fight Series 74 is set to go down on July 29 in Akron, Ohio, and the fight card already has a main event.
In the headliner, fast-rising lightweights Damonte Robinson (4-0) and Devonte Smith (4-1) will square off in a professional bout.
Robinson, who trains with veteran fighter Antonio Castillo Jr. at Mayanz MMA, has yet to taste defeat in his career dating back to his amateur days. He’ll compete for the third straight time under the IT banner, as he looks to move to 3-0 on the year. In his last outing, he topped Jeremiah Yeager via decision in the main event at IT 72 in March. Prior to that, he submitted Kenny Locsei in the second round at IT 71 in February.
Evolve MMA’s Smith looks to rebound from the first loss of his pro career, which came at the hands of John Gunther at RFO: Big Guns 22 in January. Prior to that, he started off his career with four straight wins via knockout or TKO, including a victory over Xavier Nash at Pinnacle FC 14 last August.
IT Fight Series 74 takes place at Chapparell’s Community Center. This bout will serve as one half of a four-man tournament to determine the IT Fight Series professional lightweight champion. The other bout will take place at the event featuring fighters to be determined.
