One of the most polarizing fighters in the Ohio Valley is apparently returning to action before the year as out, as Antonio Castillo Jr. (9-6) took to Twitter earlier today to tease a return at Pinnacle FC 15. The event takes place on Dec. 17 in Pittsburgh.

It would seem to make sense for Castillo to return to Pinnacle, as his wife Nichole is now part of the matchmaking team for Matt Leyshock’s promotion.
“The Mexican Muscle” has famously had multiple wars of words with fighters from Pittsburgh in the past, including the popular Mark Cherico (10-1).
Castillo made his Pinnacle FC debut last Thanksgiving Eve, in a highly anticipated and entertaining bout against Cherico’s teammate Khama Worthy. He controlled the fight for much of the first two rounds before losing via knockout in the third. Castillo’s last outing was a loss to Julian Lane at IT Fight Series 43 in April. Before his current two-fight losing streak, he had won five straight bouts.
Cherico has already announced that he’ll be part of the Pinnacle FC 15 card, although an opponent hasn’t been announced just yet. It’s entirely possible that the two featherweights could square off in a bout that would be sure to draw lots of eyeballs.
Cherico returned from a short-lived retirement at Pinnacle FC 14 in August to earn a decision over D’Juan Owens.
Also slated for Pinnacle FC 15 is featherweight and bantamweight champion Dominic Mazzotta (11-1), unless he is whisked away by a larger promotion first. Mazzotta has won eight straight and is 5-0 under the Pinnacle FC banner.
Pinnacle FC 15 will air live on FloCombat.
