Hoosier Fight Club 31 set for Horseshoe Casino with 10 pro bouts

Hoosier Fight Club 31 heads to the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana this weekend, and the promotion is coming out with a massive card, as 10 of the slated 12 bouts will take place in the pro ranks. This will be the first event promoted by HFC since they were acquired as part of the Alliance MMA developmental league last month.

In the night’s headliner, Bill Kamery (13-5) and Mike Santiago (18-9) will square off for the vacant featherweight title.

Santiago hails from the Chicago area and has won eight straight bouts. He’s the current Ring of Combat featherweight champion, and his last outing was a win over Luis Saldana at RFA 39 in June.

Kamery hails from Iowa and has produced stoppages in all 13 of his victories. His most recent outing was a loss to Darrick Minner in April.

In the co-feature, Cory Galloway (8-6) will challenge Dennis Dombrow (7-5) for the bantamweight title.

Dombrow won the HFC bantamweight title with a submission over Matthew Hemry at HFC 29 in June. He’s just 1-2 with 1 no contest in his last four bouts.

Galloway has won three bouts via submission and three via TKO, and most recently he lost a decision to Ode Osbourne at Pure FC 5 in September.

Also slated is a big-time bout pitting Nick Kraus (10-4) against Kevin Nowaczyk (13-3). Kraus won the HFC middleweight title with a submission victory over Muhammad Abdullah last year, but he dropped the title with a loss to Andy Kapel at HFC 28 in April. He’s currently ranked as the No. 4 pro middleweight in the BluegrassMMA Rankings.

Nowaczyk is riding a six-fight winning streak and hasn’t lost since 2013. He was a cast member on Season 16 of “The Ultimate Fighter” in 2012, and he earned a decision victory over Dequan Townsend in his last outing at HFC 27 in February.

On the amateur side of the card, Jesus Razo (2-1) and Gabriel Mota (5-3) will square off for the HFC middleweight title.
