Colosseum Combat XXXVIII set for Kokomo with two title fights, new main event

Colosseum Combat XXXVIII is set to go down in Kokomo, Indiana this weekend, and the fight card is highlighted by a two of title bouts, including one in the pro ranks.
In the original main event, Keith Smetana (10-5) was supposed to defend his middleweight title against Ohio’s Muhammad Abdullah (8-3). But Smetana has fallen ill, and was forced to pull out of the bout.
In the new main event, Joe Lile Jr. (6-2) will square off against Damian Norris (7-2) for the vacant lightweight title.
Lile’s last outing was a decision win over Jameson Sharp at CC XXXVI in August. Prior to that, he had a layoff of more than two years following a loss to George Comer.
Norris comes from Illinois and makes his CC debut. His last outing was a 90-second TKO win over Chris Mickle at XFO 58 last May.
Bobby Emmons (5-6) also returns from a layoff of over a year to take on Cameron VanCamp (6-3-1) in a winner-take-all bout. This will now serve as the co-main event.
Emmons announced his retirement from MMA following a submission victory over Kendrick Terry last January. That win snapped a three-fight losing streak for “White Trash BJJ,” and he’s back in action a year later looking to make it two in a row.
VanCamp is coming off of a win over Randy Jones at Hardrock MMA 85 in his last outing, and he’s won three bouts in a row. The winner of this bout will be the only one to receive a purse, with the loser going home empty-handed.
